Carlsberg UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of
the Carlsberg Group and is UK's fourth largest brewer. It currently employs around 1800 people from home based staff to those who work in one of our 16 sites across the UK. Amongst the 16 sites are two main breweries based in Northampton and Leeds.
Backed by more than 150 years of Danish heritage, Carlsberg is a household name in the UK, widely known for its innovative advertising, famous strapline and sponsorship of football from grass roots level to the international stage. The Carlsberg family of brands is strongly supported by Tetley's, Holsten and Skol, also household names. The Tetley's name has been synonymous with the brewing of high quality ales for almost two centuries. However, Tetley's is not just about great beers, it's been supported by a number of successful TV campaigns most notably 'Smoothly Does It' and the recent 'Tetley's Don't Do Things By Halves'. Tetley's sponsorship of rugby at all levels has led to the brand being firmly established as 'the' beer of rugby.
San Miguel, recently added to Carlsberg UK's portfolio, fully compliments the current product range and sits in the UK as the No 1 'world beer' in the UK. A full marketing programme is being developed to drive the premium nature of the product in the UK.
The UK beer market is in long term decline producing a very challenging trading environment. On average 3% less beer is being drunk each year with growth areas in the drinks sector mainly restricted to the wine sector. However, Carlsberg UK continue to perform well and continue to deliver increasing market share in the take home market and the On Trade.
