Mythos Brewery is the second largest brewery in Greece and a member of the Carlsberg Group since 2008. The production plant is located in Thessaloniki where Mythos, Mythos Red, Kaiser and Henninger beers are produced. Mythos beer, the first authentic Greek Heritage beer, is the only Greek beer brand exported to 30 countries, thus making it the world’s most famous Hellenic Beer. Its unique taste attracts tourists visiting Greece, who ask for it by name. At the same time, the company imports and distributes throughout the country international brands, such as Carlsberg, Kronenbourg 1664, Grimbergen, Guinness & Kilkenny (Guinness & Kilkenny are registered trade marks of Diageo Ireland), thus contributing to the expansion of the Greek market of beer and offering Greek consumers high quality choices. The company also maintains distribution centres in Athens, Thessaloniki and Crete, providing nationwide distribution coverage.

DID YOU KNOW THAT ..?
-
With a sense of responsibility to both the environment and to people, Mythos Brewery has adopted “green practices”, thus implementing recycling programs for about 90% of the materials used during the production process (glass, paper, plastic, aluminium and wooden palettes). These programs are implemented in cooperation with 3rd party recycling teams. Furthermore, Mythos Brewery is a member of the Recycling Association.
-
For over 3 years, Mythos Brewery has being implementing a system to track, record, and preserve water, thermal energy, electricity and carbon dioxide etc. through this system:
- Water usage is logged during all stages of production (from wort production to the final product). Furthermore, a system is in place for the recycling and reusage of the pasteurizer water, thus resulting in 10’s of thousands of cubic meters of water being saved.
- Energy consumption at the Brewery is logged in order to manage electricity needs for the operation of the brewery. During annual peak production period, when the electricity providers request reduction in consumption, Mythos Brewery responds via the system of managing electricity levels.
-A carbon dioxide retain system in the Brewery serves to cover needs in carbon dioxide by 80-90%, a fact leading to the reduction of carbon dioxide purchases, as well as a much lower emission of carbon dioxide from the fermentation process.
-By products of the production process (i.e. Barley remnants, yeast, etc) are transferred for animal feed, thus reducing waste to the environment.
